Sorry about that, it's a massive PITA at the moment. Your best bet currently is via generator-fsharp, and be sure to run a package update to bring your project up to WebSharper to 3.6.X, or make the necessary manual changes to use Zafir.
Thank you (both) very much for the reply. Sorry to hear it's been a pain. I will give generator-fsharp a try, though I might also try just running a Windows VM. It will be my first time using F#. Here's looking forward to getting into it!
We added a Create a Project link on the WebSharper developer site that you can use to get the files for a number of WebSharper project templates. Can you give that a try?

I've been trying to install WebSharper with Visual Studio for Mac, but had no luck so far. Is there any way to do it? VSIX files don't work, and I can't find WebSharper in the Extension Manager's gallery.
I tried to ask this on the WebSharper site BTW, but it kept throwing an error when I submitted the question.
