Hi,
I don't think that some book like this exist (or ever will) - just look at the the size this work would have. Going from pre-calculus to PDEs alone fills more than one book (I guess you would want to have it in a way to really understand the math - so you would have to get something similar to 3 semesters Analysis at minimum).
On the other hand: if you would write such a book I guess I would buy one volume - just hits my geek-nerve ;)

Well OK.
Maybe your right. Its both a broad and and narrow remit no Databases/graphics/xml/internet but lots of mathematics. However, I can buy Numerical recipes in C and/or Fortran. (which I loathe to be honest)
How about a Numerical Recipes in F#?
However since I have one potential sale. I will set out a structure for my book and fill in the gaps...I may be some time

I have been made redundant (I have a new job lined up so should be fine for a bit.
However I am taking the opportunity to have another go at learning F#. Something I have failed a couple of times at.
I frequently read that F# is well suited to doing maths problems.
Yet nearly all the books and resources I have seen worry about parsing strings, talking to databases and various other things that are definitely not maths.
I own Jon Harrop F# for Scientists and I like it a lot, it is very insightful, and has a lot useful how 2s in it (connecting to matlab etc).
What I want is a resource called Numerical Modelling in F#. Starting at a introductory calculus moving up to solving nonlinear partial differential equations.
without using 3rd party libraries written in C or Fortran which is clearly cheating!
Does such a resource exist?
May be I need to write this book myself?
