Cannot load F# class library from C# application

Hi

I am having a problem loading an F# library from a C# app that I have written. But first, a little bit of background:

I acquired a new laptop 64-bit Windows 7 OS. I installed VS 2010 and it seems to work fine.

I have code that worked well on my old computer (x86) and I am trying to get it to work on the new laptop. I get the following error message:

Cannot load file or assembly "FsUtils" or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.

I am compiling both the C# and F# app in the .NET Framework 2.0 because of constraints on the client side.

A few things that I have noted:

  • The class library FsUtils does not compile using the flag AnyCPU even though I set in in the project. When compiling the library, the flag --platform:x86 always appears.
  • FsUtils has the following dependencies:
    FSharp.Core,
    FSharp.PowerPack,
    mscorlib,
    System,
    System.Xml.

I think it has something to do with the 64 bit OS system, but I cannot figure out what it is. I appreciate any help in this matter.

Here is a guess:

Even though it says 'AnyCPU' at the top menu of VS, the config for that project is still x86. Click the triangle next to the platform selector in the VS menu to bring up the dropdown, click 'Configuration Manager...' and then see if the 'AnyCPU' profile has remapped the platform for that particular project.

Hi, did you install the FSharp PowerPack? AFAIK, it doesn't come with VS2010.
