Hmm, I tried to reproduce this on my system, but can't reproduce it. What version of Firefox are you using? I am using version 3.5.5 and I cannot reproduce it.

You might try changing the language filter settings, or check to make sure F# is selected.

Hi Gordon,

I'll see if this screen capture work here. This is from the WS2K8 box, FireFox rendering. Note the missing code example in the "Return Values" section - as well as the missing "Copy Code" hyperlink.

On the Vista box, I can see the code samples; but the "Copy Code" link is missing.

My best guess is some option settings and defaults - but hardly seems important enough to trace.

(Tried standard paste and paste icon option - both show in Compose, neither in Preview)

The language filter setting is visible in Classic View (the default), it is supposed to appear at the top of each page. There is a bit of Javascript that pops up a small window with checkboxes for each language. Current working theory is that the problem is due to the language filter + a certain format of code example. I can't see your image attachments, but if you post the link, I can narrow down my investigation to a specific case.

Hi Gordon,

The link I used for comparing the renderings:
[link:msdn.microsoft.com]

I hadn't noticed the view options before.

Yes, "Classic" was the default I was using. I had not noticed the language filter menu (below the bread crumb menu-list), before. It was set to "All"; but on list of checkboxes, F# was listed but unchecked (all others were checked). Checking F# brings the sample code to the Firefox rendering (but the Copy code hyperlink is still missing). That clears up one mystery.

Just for the record, this was the experience before (and after, as it turns out, after), checking the filter reference for the ScriptFree and Light weight beta views:

ScriptFree: can see code (not Copy code link); but lose nicely formatted, expandable, contents pane of Classic view, to left (replaced with simple list).

LW beta: similar to ScriptFree; but now get a yellow option pop-up button lower right corner, that replaces the 3 view options: Classic, LW beta, ScriptFree; seen on the top left in the other views.

Checked on the Vista box. The language filter was set to "all" (as it was on the other box); but F# was checked on that list (though I don't recall doing that myself). Both boxes have VS 2008 The W2K8 has the Standard edition, and the Vista box has Pro. Installed F# files on both boxes within a few days of each other (a couple weeks ago).

Bottom line: As long as the F# option is checked in the language filter FF renders the same as FF's IE-tab add-on rendering option - except for the "Copy code" hyperlink. The only misleading thing is that "All" can show for the filter, yet not all (not F#), are checked.

Hope it helps,

BRN..

Hi Gordon,

I'm using 3.5.5 as well. The box is running WS2K8. I haven't tried accessing the references from another box with FF; but I can. There are so many options and add-in combinations, that it may be can be hard to pin down.

I've had some similar issues with MS sites before - usually they resolve when I switch to the IE rendering.

Not sure which language filter settings you mentioned (on the MSDN language reference page?). Any way, it was only the sample code (and the option to copy the code button), that was not showing in FF.

I'll try it with FF on a Vista box later.
