'stand-by', as in, the laptop was closed/hibernated and the resumed?
Hm, have not seen this as far as I know.
One thing to try is to run 'devenv.com /setup' from the command-line (with admin priviledges). If that doesn't work...
This may be hard to diagnose, but one thing to try it to start up VS and get to right before you open an F# project and get that error dialog, and attach a second instance of VS as a debugger to the first one, with 'catch all first chance exceptions' turned on and 'just my code' turned off, and then try to open an F# project in the first instance, and report back here the exceptions and stack traces you see in the debugger prior to the 'project type not supported' dialog.

Hi..
I recently upgraded to F# 1.9.6.16 under VS 2008 (v 9.0.30729.1 SP) running on Vista Business (SP1) on a laptop.
All was fine and I was merrily playing and then there was a problem restarting after a stand-by with VS still open. It looks as though it has caused a registry issue and I am now unable to open or create F# projects getting the "project type (.fsproj) is not supported by this version of the application" error.
I uninstalled F# and did a reinstall to no effect.
Any thoughts on how to get it going again? I'd rather not have to completely reinstall VS as it would be a very painful process for me.
