Hmmm, that's not good.

Which 'developer profile' did you select when starting VS?

Is this what happens after e.g. creating a new F# project and trying to open a file? (What exact steps did you take to get to the point in the screenshot?)

Which OS? (XP/Vista/Win7?) x86 or x64?

I selected the C# developer profile (as its what I usualy use, I am just learning F# now). It happens anytime I try to view a F# file (or it did before I installed the F# September CTP). That happens when I try to open a F# file or start a new F# project (any of them as it is trying to display that file when it creates it).

I am currently using Win7 x86 build 7100.

Hi obsid,

Could you please provide a few additional info regarding your setup and configuration?

1. What version of Visual Studio are installed on your machine? I take you have both Dev10 (Beta1) and VS2008.

2. In what order you installed the products? VS2008 first or Dev10 first?

3. Am I correct to state that you installed F# 1.9.6.2 after installing Dev10? If not, when?

4. What editions of Visual Studio you installed on your machine? Professional? VSTS? Etc...

5. Was the Visual Studio setup a "full setup" or you "customized" the setup somehow? If customized, do you recall what you selected?

I understand those are a lot of questions, but they would help me trying to narrow down the issue you are facing.

Thanks,

-Matteo

1) Yes I have VS2008 and VS2010 beta 1 installed.

2) I installed VS2008, and then VS2010 beta 1

3) Yes I installed F# 1.9.6.2 after installing Dev 10 (and then everything worked fine)

4) I have VS2008 Pro SP1 and VS2010 TFS beta 1

5) both were "full setup" installs.

I just found the error that occured before I installed the F#, kind of wierd. Everything works for me now (after I installed F# 1.9.6.2). I just found it strange to get an error like that as it suggests that the F# language service stuff isnt included in VS2010 (unlike the C# and VB.NET). Maybe this is expected behavior?
