If everything stays on schedule, this info will appear Wednesday morning (PST) in all the 'usual' places.

Is everything still on schedule? It's 10:00am PST. I keep refreshing the F# developer page hoping for the new version...

I keep refreshing the F# developer page hoping for the new version...

So do I. :)

We're a little behind, but I think it's highly likely to appear in the next two hours.

Oh. I thought since VS2010 was on MSDN now it'd all be out now :(. Thanks for the heads up!

VS2010 is only available to MSDN subscribers now; it becomes available to 'everyone' on Wednesday. So that's the rationale.

(That said, regardless, we have a few of our own ducks we still need to get in a row before we're ready to publish the CTP update, so even if not for that intentional goal, there'd still be a little waiting right now. :) Waiting is hard, I know! I want to see new bits in your hands as much as you want to have them. :) )

Do you mean you need time to port F# functionality from VS2010 Beta to VS2008 or that beta 1 does not include it yet?

Btw, thumbs up for the great work. You are really bringing back fun to the computing.

There will be another F# CTP for VS2008 published in the next few days. VS2010 Beta1 has F# in the box, but some people will want to continue using VS2008, and so we'll publish a CTP update with the 'same F#' (language and library updates) as is in VS2010 Beta1. Hope that makes it a little clearer - it will be much clearer when I (or others on the team) post a blog entry about all this in the next few days. (There are lots of little last-minute tasks we need to do to get the CTP out the door.)

Oh ok. Thanks a ton, that explains a lot. I don't mind waiting (well, OK, I do), but I just like knowing what's up :). Thanks!
