Hi all!

I am just trying to do simple things while I get started with F#. I wanted to give a string, split it and reverse the result of it so this is what I tried:

let dateTransform date =
let words = String.split ['/'] date
let date2 words = List.rev words
date2

When I try to run it from F# shell I get this:
> dateTransform "02/01/2009";;

stdin(0,1): error FS0030: Value restriction. Type inference has inferred the signature
val it : ('_a list -> '_a list)
Either define 'it' as a syntactic function, or add a type constraint to instantiate the type parameters.

I've been trying to solve the problem but don't know where it exactly is. I've seen snippets using this kind of List.rev thing without problem. I know there is a problem with the "incoming" and "outgoing" type, I just don't know why.

Any clue?
