Hi Erik,

That message is usually the compiler trying to tell you that "something went wrong" while trying to add your windows .res file(s).

There are a few things that can go wrong while doing this operation: for example, if you supply an incorrect .res file you get the same error message.

Two things:

- the code that deals with that optionis being revisited by our F# developers (we knew it was not "perfect" :))

- the fact that instead of a "friendly" error message we are emitting an "ugly" stacktrace is tracked in our database already (#3677).

Since you are saying that the same operation was working before, we can rule out the fact that your .res file(s) are corrupt.

It would be great if you could provide us with a repro that shows the problem, so we can make sure it will be completely addressed.

You can .zip all the files and e/mail them to fsbugs@microsoft.com

Thanks,

-Matteo

Great!

I'll get your sources later today and give them a spin with the latest bits we have available.

I'll post back the results (hopefully something like "Yup - it's all good now")

:-)
