Do you have F# 1.9.6.0? I think this is a bug that was fixed in 1.9.6.2, the CTP update:
so I expect that installing the new version will fix it. (Specifically, bug 3419, mentioned here
caused a number of Seq functions to misbehave in 1.9.6.0.)
