Hi Daniel - i can confirm that i have the same problem with Visual Studio 2008 on Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
The two main areas i'm investigating to see if i can find the problem are security (i'm playing around with running VS elevated); and having had past betas installed on this machine.
If i find anything i'll post back here.
Good news - looks like this behaviour has been fixed in v1.9.4.17.
The

warningForTabletPC
function in fsi.fs is called at startup and displays a useful message.
I found following the message:
"Try selecting Tools->Options->F# Interactive for Visual Studio and enter '--fsi-server-no-unicode'"
fixed my problem.

Hi,
I have found on two independent installations of Visual Studio 2008 Professional (Vista Tablet PC) that the F# Interactive window produces no output.
fsi.exe works fine in a console, and the VS FSharp projects are fine otherwise.
Both machines are Vista Tablet PCs - perhaps a suspicious coincidence as I doubt this configuration has been explicitly tested.
I'll post further information as I collect it here, but I would be grateful if anyone could confirm this.
