Hi Kevin,

Many of the issues you metion are things we're looking at fixing over the coming year as part of the productization of F#. They are indeed issues with the current "research" release of the language.

This means you do have to be targeted about what tasks you use the current research release for: it is not yet seamless to use as a replacement for other languages.

If you do want to use the current research release for the above task it sounds like using nmake with a traditional Makefile may be appropriate, or to configure a custom msbuild task.
