I've mentioned this in email with most of you, but there are a few things that we'll be trying to use here to make this community close where it needs to be close.

Profile

When you sign in on The Hub, you have a profile and credentials to use the site. To view your profile, click on you user name in the upper right corner.

Make sure you manage your password. I'd hope that the original default password that I assigned is changed by everyone on one of your first few sessions.

Fill out any information that you'd like to have viewed on The Hub. Remember, right now that information is for contributors, but once we "go live", the profile will be available to the public. Have fun, do what you want, but keep it clean. No fields regarding profile are required, i.e. bio, signature, etc are all optional. My "bio" will change from time to time, depending on circumstances.

Inbox

We're trying to build community here. As such, communications should be encapsulated on this site as much as possible. Use your inbox and use private messages as your primary source of communications for one-to-one (looking into more than one receiver and broadcasting) interaction.

To send someone a private message, just click on their user id (as a link) anywhere on the site. If you can't find a link, go to the blogs section under Bloggers, The Hub Contributors Group and find the person.

Email is useful, but infers that there is some other condition that cannot be managed on The Hub. If this is truly the case, then use email or other means of communications. Otherwise, the inbox here should prove useful for most everyone.

Remember that The Hub is "different time, different place" collaboration, so use it within those means.
