Your wrapper types look fine, btw. It's just that this approach does not take great advantage of F#'s strengths.

In addition to WebSharper, you might want to check out Frank, Figment, or PicoMvc, all of which try to take a better F# view of the world. Full disclosure, I'm working on Frank and am currently working on a cleanup then merge with Figment (with Mauricio's permission).

Have you looked at WebSharper sitelets? They are a composable, type-safe abstraction for website values in F#. Another powerful web construct you might be interested in is formlets.
