Hi Doug,
The light syntax is "experimental" in that it is a newer feature of the language, but its been around for a while now so its very safe to use. It maybe see a few changes in future release but these will be none breaking changes that relax the formatting rules.
Both Don and I are big fans of the light syntax - thats why its in both our books. It's especially helpful for beginners, as it forces you to format your code correctly. People who don't tend to like it are people form an ocaml background who are used to there way of doing things.
Both syntaxs will be available in the final release so at the end of the day its your choice - but I'd recommend the light syntax.

Hi,
I have a newbie question. Is the #light syntax the preferred syntax for writing F# code? The manual seems to encourage it and the Expert F# book certainly promotes it. But the manual only says that "At the time of this release this is an experimental feature" and " ;; must be in the source code". The VS editor however does not flag any error when I write statements without the ";;" and the "#light" keyword.
So which way is the "right" way?
